The Chemstress civil and structural engineering services include the preparation of all necessary plans, profiles, details, specifications, estimates, calculations, forms and submittals necessary for construction of many types of projects. Projects are completed in accordance with the latest edition and any interim or supplemental specifications of the governing city, county, state, national and international building codes, and local state department of transportation construction and material specifications.
Services also include the preparation of all necessary documents and the coordination of all activities to secure written approval from affected agencies and political subdivisions. These organizations include, but are not limited to, state departments of transportation, environmental protection agency, historical society, preservation, natural resources, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.Utility companies are contacted to verify existing conditions and to abide by the utilities’ standards and requirements.
Services
Civil Engineering Design
Includes the required services to adequately perform engineering to evaluate the existing conditions and alternatives to produce the most economical and practical design recommendations for site development, roadway, parking lots, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, process sewers, water lines, process water lines, gas service lines, storm water retention/detention systems, containment systems, and general industrial, process, and commercial site development.
These services include the preparation of the construction documents, feasibility studies, and project alternatives. The construction documents consist of a complete set of line and profile and detail drawings, and construction materials and methods specifications.
Structural Engineering Design
Includes the required services to adequately perform engineering to evaluate the existing conditions and alternatives to produce the economical and practical design recommendations for commercial, industrial, and process related structures.
Services include foundation designs for buildings and equipment; deep and shallow type systems. Building structural systems include structural steel, pre-cast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, and timber. Services also include the structural design of building types including commercial, office and retail, industrial, warehouse, and process, as well as designs of vehicle access bridges, and pipe racks and bridges. Structural engineering includes the performance of structural inspections, and structural rehabilitation projects.
Inspection
Includes the full time monitoring of daily construction activities in terms of labor, materials, equipment, and methods provided by the contractor. These services also provide for the quality control of and the conformance of the construction activities in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
The inspector also tabulates quantities of materials and labor installed or performed. The inspector also addresses minor problems during construction and communicates the larger issues to the construction engineer or administrator.
On-Site Surveys
On-Site surveys include two (2) or three (3) man crews to acquire necessary topography and establish the vertical and horizontal control for projects. Surveys are usually computer generated and converted into a CAD drawing format for design applications. The surveying and mapping services performed by Chemstress use computerized survey equipment and data collectors. The work is performed in accordance to the project scope of services established during the preliminary design.
